Wedding Ceremony

Its been a busy weekend for me. Yup, very very busy... Debate, homework x 50, tuition, dance, etc.. I went to KLCC yesterday for a movie. It was a last minute plan to go there. Watched the movie Jumper. Not bad movie. No harm watching it. Then, I went hunting for a pair of running shoes. After 15 minutes, I found the one!! It cost abt RM350. Im getting it... and also an ipod nano which cost abt... let see... lemme refresh my memory... abt.... RM620 if im not mistaken. XDXD

Anyway, rewind to a few days ago, I got a wedding invitation. A wedding invitation to ME!! I never got a wedding invitation before.

And look!! It has my name on it!
Miss Denise.
Im not a jakun or anything la.. But then, usually, i do get wedding invitations. Just that, It had never occurred to me that my own name is on it. Usually it will be Mr & Mrs Tan and Family written on it. So yeah, you might be wondering whose wedding was it. It was my biology teacher's wedding. She's getting married! ok..lets fast forward to Sunday.

Today, I woke up at 10. My room was very cooling until i don't feel like waking up... But then, I MUST! You see, I have one problem when i was dressing up. I don't know what to wear. O.O So, with all the clothes i have, i took ALLLL of them out from my cupboard.

Pants, Jeans, Skirt, T-shirt, Turtle Neck, Blouse, Jacket, Sleeveless shirt, dress etc.

Hmm.... I caould say i changed my outfit 9 times. Skirt, sleeveless shirt, dress and jacket are crossed out on my list since i was going for a malay wedding and my school teachers will be there. Usually, i would wear skirt or dress. Finally, I picked up a pair of my Levi's Jeans and a B.U.M shirt, my Braun Buffel handbag which i love the most, and a pair of heels.

My dad fetch us(Vinaya, Khai Wen and I) there. We got lost for a while. Since i sucked at reading maps. So, it is proven that girls/ladies/women can't read maps. That is according to Allan+Barbara Pease books. XD But, another reason we got lost is.. THERE ARE LOTS OF election FLAGS AND BANNERS HANGING IN THE AIR, PLASTERED ON SIGNBOARDS, ROADSIDES, AND CARS+MOTORBIKES. Its soooo distracting!! When we reached, the place was empty. O.O omg... are we at the right place???!!? Then, we saw one of our school teacher parking his car nearby.. so we followed him, and phew... what a relief.. we're at the right place.

We were one of those early people who reached that place. When we reached the ballroom, it was quite empty. wow..

A few people came to us and asked us to start eating... "Marilah.. makan, makan", said one of the ladies. We were like.. "okok, sekejap." Then, came another lady telling us the same thing. Well, its kinda awkward to eat when there no one there. Then, one of our teacher came to us and asked us to eat. omg.... well, right after that, we couldn't help it when ppl keep telling us to eat, we went to take our plates, and EAT! Maybe.... They saw us, a bunch of skinny sticks came in, and they felt sorry for us and asked us to eat and eat and eat more...(im just joking abt this statement. I know its courtesy)" Half way eating, some ppl came to our table and asked us to eat some more... *smacks my head* and then he left without saying hi or bye or congratulate the bride and groom. o.O?? Three of us was like... "uhhhh... did he just came here to eat??" its kinda rude to do so.

Of all the weddings I've been to, Malay wedding are the simplest wedding I've ever been to. You can sit where ever you want, take your own food and can actually leave anytime you want. Unlike Chinese weddings, you are assigned to certain tables where sometimes, you're forced to sit people you don't even know, having a boring conversation(most of the time), and end up having a boring atmosphere and a boring time at the wedding. Then, you have to wait for everyone to arrive and to be seated and then.... the wedding dinner will start. then, you have to wait for the ceremony to finish where it usually ends at 11pm and then only you get to go home. haih... So far, I've never been to a Indian and a Punjabi wedding.

So, three of use ate there. Soon, more teachers arrived, our friends arrived and more guests arrived... By 1pm, the ballroom was packed with people. All of us witnessed the "Majlis Persandingan" It was very simple.

=) She looks different..... compared when shes in school teaching. hehe..

Tada!! A three tier cake. Its edible. All thee of them!

And not to forget, we got them some presents. Im not telling you whats in it. XD

Yeap, we got then 2 presents. One for the bride and the other one for the groom. They can have either one of it. PS : dont mind what we wrote on the sides. XD
To Vi: The is the best handwriting of yours I've ever seen in my whole entire life studying with you. Congrats on the good handwriting. *evil laughs*

Students of 5 Science 1 who attended the wedding.

Hmmm... I was wondering... Is it appropriate to wear black to a malay wedding? Coz, ususally chinese and indian weddings, black are not allowed. But, i like my shirt. it was nice. Well, while i was there, i did a survey on the guests. It turns out, its OK to wear black for a Malay wedding. However, its still not good to wear black for any kinds of wedding. So, I shall not wear black for any wedding.

The Newly Weds!

My dad was supposed to pick us up at 2.30 but he came at 3.15pm. The others went home earlier and left the 4 of us, Kok Siang, Khai wen, Vinaya and myself. We had nothing to do, so we decided to kacau our teacher. muahahaha... She suggested us to sit on the pelamin/ the stage.

Cheh!! flower's for me? wait till you see the next picture.

Fuyoooohhh....
omg... dont look at this wrongly. Im not married to any of these guys.

A few other photographers took our picture. We were not making fun of it. Its actually a once in a lifetime experience. You dont get to do this everyday right?? Ofcourse lah... you dont get married everyday. What Im saying is sitting on that thing. Its my first time sitting on the malay "pelamin" or whetever you call it. However, the seats does not belong to us, we just borred it for a while.

Now this.... this is where we're supposed to stand for a picture with the newly weds!

I brought back some souvenirs. 5 boiled eggs and a box of candy.

Vinaya was making fun of me when I say I wanted those eggs. >.<

Happy Wedding Day To The Newly Weds,
to our Biology teacher & her Spouse !!!

As promised, i would blog today. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures with me now because theres something wrong with my camera's memory card.ugh.. Every time i press the on button, it will appear that I have to format it. *sighs*I got a few pictures from our debate discussion and a 30-second video of 2 debaters singing the Lollipop song by Mika. Yeah, they sang exactly like mika with THAT KIND of voice. Too bad I can't upload the pics to the computer.. Ahh... nevermind..

On Tuesday, I spent approximately15 hours away from home which is from 6a.m to 9.45pm. Its because of school and after school debate discussion which was all the way in Sepang. -.-" It took us 1 hour to actually reach Sepang though the road was not packed with cars or lorries.

All of use ate lots and lots of candy. but guess what?? have you ever tried eating flower petals candy??? As in, REAL flower petals. I did, with my fellow debate members. Well, all of us didn't know that it was a candy untill i took it out and ask "is this edible??? flower petals??" everyone was like... "whhhaaat??? flower petals???" Yeah, its edible. We ate it. To our surprise, it was delicious. The scent of the flower with nuts. yummy... there goes the picture I took in my camera... I wish there were more of those candy. Too bad theres only one.

This is not exactly the picture. Its just an illustration.

I slept in the car for awhile as I could not take it anymore. I'm desperately in need of sleep. We reached our destination which is The Empress Hotel where our discussion was held. All of us talk and talked and talk. Yeah, we talk a lot. Call us chatterboxes. I realise that im starting to talk a lot nowdays compared to last time. Quite a few things happen. it was a fun but very tiring discussion.

We went home quite late. we kept singing the lollipop song by mika. Reached home, bathe and slept.

This thing im doing now has made me sacrifice some classes like BM, English, EST, Sejarah, Moral and PJK. Well, its not really a huge problem for me. Its because of that, homeworks are piling up like crazy!

Anywa, to be continue... I just got home from tuition not long ago and im really tired.

=D

Debate discussions are getting more interesting though im just helping a bit. I enjoy the company of everyone who is in the debate. We had fun. =D We laugh non-stop, joke around at times, tease each other and we talk a lot! But, we also know when to be serious. anyway..... i should stop here as my homeworks are piling up even higher than ever before. @.@ I really can go nuts!
Staying in a confined room gives me headaches. ughh... Lack of oxygen.
I'll be back with my next post ASAP. most probably on Friday.

Saturday, 23 February 2008

Hmmm... Sometimes things will not turn out the way you expect/want it to be.
It can be great or disappointing.
It can be fair or unfair.
Sometimes, I just don't understand.

Everything I do, I'll always put all my effort in it. Especially when it comes to studying. Its not the only thing I'm good at okay. But, i know what to do when it comes to studying. Other than studying, I love art. Art can be anything. Not just about drawing or painting. I'm like a 5 year old girl when it comes to drawing and painting. XD I love art as in wrapping a present in a stylish way, making my own cards, decorations, ribbons, flowers made from papers, and things similar to it as long as it needs a pair of scissors, glue, a pencil, paper, cellophane tape and ME! I'm not really serious abt doing this as my career but just as a favorite pastime. But, what happens if you've did you very best and did not get the results that you're supposed/ expected to get? Disappointment.

People may call me a nerd or a geek by my looks. Some people look down on these kind of people when it comes to things besides studying and their books. anyway, i feel like I'm talking crap now.

A lot of things i did with all my heart. But what happens in the end when you did not get what you deserve?
ugh...

Happy Chinese New Year!

Next post.. Chinese New Year. =D Well, i did had some fun though it was really pleasant. When I was younger, I was always looking forward for CNY as I always enjoyed playing with my cousins. But now all of them are teenagers like me and some of them were not there coz they're studying overseas. So, I end up playing the kids aged 3-7. They can be annoying as you know, you're playing with kids who are 10-14 years younger than you. -.-" One thing i love playing with them is that they always bring out the joy and happiness in you. As for my other cousin around my age, especially the twins who were boys. They were extremely shy i guess. Hmm, i dont really have a decent picture of them. They have the looks. *ahem*
I spent 1/4 of my time there doing my homework. Other than that, i did took some pics of me.

CNY will never be complete without a party and fireworks. Every year, my uncles and aunties would organise a party. Its always fun. Food, drinks, people, karaoke, scotch whiskey, beer, wine etcetcetc.

Look at the pool of oil. >.<

OMG... O.O

WTF!!?!?! Im not eating that dish. and NO i did not eat it at all.

The great chefs of the night! Daddy and my uncle

Although it doesn't look delicious in this picture due to bad lighting. But, its Superb!
Lamb, butter fish, chicken, prawns, squid.
I don't eat prawns and squid.

Lovely. Its finger licking good. Wanna try some? Feel free to contact me anytime.

Thats me before my uncle dragged and pulled me in to dance. XD

Do you notice that Im wearing different shirts?
yeah, it was really warm that particular night.

Look at the red box.
and if you're wondering what are all those things stacking up side by side.
they're granite tiles. Theres a lot around the house compound.
i wonder how much did my another uncle spent on these tiles. damn. They're not cheap.

Behold..... 148... uhh... fireworks?
*drum rolls*

Walah!! It ends with a bang!
not just a bang but 148 of them!

Happy Chinese New Year!

SPCA

aha! Finally i have the time to post something year. So, lets rewind back to 27 January 2008.
My friends and I went to SPCA to do some volunteer work. It was okay.. Its not as bad i expected it to be. There are so many dogs compared to cats. Some of them were very cute and i just feel like taking them home.. and guess what? a newborn kitten is smaller than the size of a fully grown hamster.

Anyway, all of us went there at abt 10.30am right after our so called "Larian Hijau" at Taman TAR. There were other students helping out that day since the next day they are organising a Jumble Sale. While I was there, i have this feeling of fear that a dog would run towards me and bite me. I was quite afraid of them because I was bitten by a dog before, 2 years ago while visiting some relatives during chinese new year. That particular dog was mad!! I did not do anything to provoke it and it bit me! ugh... so my dad took me to the clinic for an injection. Thank god i was wearing jeans at the time or else it would be more severe. I couldn't wear mini skirts. Imagine having a big and thick oval bruise on your thigh with 4 visible dots on it due to the canine teeth. it took abt 3 weeks for the bruise to completely disappear. That dog was huge! and most probably its not a pure breed dog or else it wont be that aggressive. oook... im drifting away from the topic.
I learned to love dogs again. I guess one black sheep does not spoil the whole flock. XD or one bad apple does not spoil the whole basket.

Here are some pictures :

When theres animals, you can never escape from this.

I can't help it. i know. bad lighting.

look at them... "Take me home!"

A German Shepard. Beautiful dog.

It eats a lot!

Vi and ViVi.

Lunch time!

Lunch for the puppies.

mmm... yummy....

awww... You're so adorable... it winked at me too!

Kok Siang and I.

On our way to McDonalds Drivethru at Petronas. Damn, i was really hungry that i could eat an elephant. Ah well, its very near my house, thats why I'm walking home.

Satisfaction!

These are the only pictures i manage to take.
next update will be.....

That is according to Allan+Barbara Pease books. XD But, another reason we got lost is..
