As you know, this year's Olympic Games is hosted by..
yes, China.
This time, The Olympic Games really got the attention of the Media. XD
Why not? With all the marvelous and spectacular designs of the stadiums.
They are..
The Birds Nest
Officially, it is Beijing's National Stadium.
Unofficially it is called the birds nest. This magnificent bird's nest didn't come cheaply.
The construction costs were a staggering $550 million. holy crap...
The Egg
It is The National Centre of Performing arts.
It has one of the largest theater lobbies.
The anteroom to an opera house holds up to 2079 seats, a concert hall seating 1858 and a theater for 957 more.
lol.... wht is with all the odd numbers..
The twisted Doughnut
also knows as The CCTV Headquarters.
Rising 54 storeys and looping in on itself. Its the world's second largest office building behind The Pentagon.
last but not least,
The Water Cube
It is The National Aquatic Centre.
i like the colour.. hehe.
Theres so much to say about this magnificent monument.
The LED lights, The walls and ceiling made of 4000 inflated blue polymer pillows with a skin only eight one-thoudsandth of an inch thick which are stronger than steel or concrete, greenhouse effects and i dont know anymore. XD
Cost a bomb too. more than $140 million.
Okaay, I missed the Opening Ceremony Of The Beijing Olympics because I had tuition at the same time. =.="
What to do..
Even though The olympics is once every 4 years, but SPM is one in a lifetime!
Besides, I'm sure theres a re-run for it. However, I manage to watch some parts of it.
my gawd. It was too good to be true ! lol...
Such wonderful technological innovation, the lightings!, performances, synchronisation, gahhh.... too many to list them down. But whatever it is, I don't think any other country could do it better than this. Every little detail of it is planned out perfectly and systematically.
thumbs up for them!
Although there was some controversies about the torch designs. =.="
Anyway, I'm suire the citizen of Beijing wil enjoy all the new architectural marvels for decades to come and share them proudly with visitors from all over the world.
ok... now, its m.lyn's tag!
which team are you supporting for the grand Olympics 2008?
malaysia ofcourse and.... it depends.
which shirt design do you like most ?
elegant, young, sporty, feminine
why?
Because I think it fits well with my style and personality.
Who would you like to meet and get his/her autograph if you're given a chance to meet them?
