It feels great to be back home!
I just got home From Bangkok, Thailand yesterday night.
It wasn't the best holiday I've ever had but it was an amazing experience.
Anyway, 11 of us went there.
So, its more like a group vacation/tour.
I'll try to make this very brief.
4th June, Wednesday.
I woke up really early to pack my other remaining stuffs like my toothbrush, shampoo, etcetc.
Went straight to LCC Terminal Airport.
My flight is at 10.30a.m.
While waiting for it, all of us went to McDonalds to have our breakfast.
Thia is Joanna, my 6-year-old cousin eating her hash brown.
and this is Jasveen, my 6-year-old cousin too.
This, is me.
I really like this sunglasses.
Even though it doesn't belongs to me.
After our breakfast,
we ed at the waiting section.
and soon, its time.
hehe.. Bangkok here I come!
I can't help myself taking pictures of the clouds.
I love the pattern of it.
It was drizzling i guess.. hmm...
After 2 hours, all of us landed safely at Thai capital’s Suvarnabhumi Airport.
When we arrived, I have to adjust my watch abt 1 hour earlier than the malaysian time.
While looking for our tuor guide, I manage to take some pictures.
This is my uncle. He looks different because he's a Punjabi. He's Jasveen's dad.
ahh... finally! our flight number. But the name was written out wrongly. but its okay.
This here, is our tour guide/translator who will be bringing us around bangkok.
His name is Chumphom/
John - his nickname.
I was asking him whether could we get some bugs to eat or smthg. and he said
Sure!! can..can...I bring you later!
lol..i don't know how true is that but we'll see.
and yess... i really want to try eating those things.
In the van..
After few hours in the plane and on the road, all of us were starving.
So, we went to this restaurant called MK Restaurant.
I don't know what does MK stands for but the food was ok-ok only.
It wasn't that special to me.
But something else caught my eyes was the waiters and waitresses started dancing when their restaurant theme song was aired.
It was something new to all of us as we've never seen this before. haha..
After that, we start ordering and i saw this on the menu...
Pigs Kidney. >.< and no i did not order it.
oh ya.. I almost forgot to mention the exchange rate here.
RM 1 = approx. 10baht.
The streets of Bangkok City.
You could see them everywhere! Selling Jasmine flower necklace or something like that.
one of those cost 20 baht.
and theres more..
The
tuk-tuk. They're everywhere too. and The passengers are from east asia.
Well, this picture was taken at East Asian Town where you can find halal food.
well, there we a lot of colourful taxi's here. yellow, blue, pink, orange.
and i stumbled across this. A lady begging for some money.
well, no matter where you go, there's always this kind of thing.
Like this too..
...
im speechless.
Theres another one I saw bust I did not manage to take a picture of it.
It was a pair of husband and wife with their toddler sleeping under the highway.
They had nothing with them except the clothes that they were wearing.
All of us were kinda surprised when we saw them.
and according to John-our tour guide they would do anything for money.
Lets say if you don't they'll scratch car, break your window and things like that.
>.< gosh..
When night falls, we went out for dinner.
Before that, we went to Siam Paragon for some shopping but there was nothing to shop there.
Most of the things you can find it in KL.
www. I am a perfectionist. com.
lol...
well, another thing abt Bangkok, they reeeaaaaaaaaaaaaally love 7-eleven.
Seriously! there are too many 7-eleven's here.
and guess what. 3 of these pictures are taken on the same street. there more pictures of 7-eleven to come. XD
heres another one situated nearby.
well, we ate near this 7-11 shop.
The food looks really good and it is good!
Well, after that, we head back to our hotel room and slept.
in my room, I opened the fridge and found so many things to drink but I wasn't in the mood.
then i saw this..
LOL! Its not that I can use it. Al though I cant read thai but I know what it is.
I guess its normal to have these at hotels in Thailand. or maybe not.
the next day..
5th June, Thursday.
I woke up really early, bathed, got dressed and went downstairs for beakfast. The food was alright.
A lot of things to eat.
Today, we'll be going to..
The Floating Market
The Bridge of River Kwai
The Wax Museum
and The Mambo Cabaret Show.
I only got pictures from the floating market and The bridge of River Kwai.
Its because there was something wrong with the camera and I could not take any pictures.
But The pictures are in my aunty's camera.
So, here it goes.
It was a bright sunny day in Bangkok.
The weather here is really really hot.
Even standing here taking this picture, I was starting to sweat.
The journey from Bangkok City to The Floating Market took us about 2 hours.
I was darn sleepy and for the 1st time ever in 8 years, I was experiencing motion sickness.
So, I slept throughout the journey.
So, here is the floating market.
Nice eh??
XD Im just joking.
This is the beginning of the river or whatever it is called.
But I'm pretty sure its not a river.
enjoying the view.
and I saw this...
A picture of The King of Thailand, King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
And again, his pictures are also everywhere in the city.
even in front of this house!
The citizens really love their king so much.
and I could say they really loyal and really look up to him.
This was taken at the front door of a seafood restaurant.
and theres was another shoplot restaurant i went to,
nature calls.
I saw on their fridge, theres was a few pictures of their king and his family sticking on it.
It was a piece of magnet but it was just a photograph.
hmm...
I wouldn't do that back here in Malaysia.
ok.. back to the topic.. floating market.
and yes, a lot of people do live around here.
They sell a lot of stuffs but almost all the shops along the floating market sell abt the same thing but at different prices.
Don't worry, you can bargain a lot with them.
My uncle bought a puppet doll for his daughter at 300 baht from 1300 baht.
LOL! thats a huge difference.
Okay.. now, on our way to the real floating market.
theres too many boats around here.
waiting.....
john!
He's a really funny and extremely nice person.
They way he speaks English is really interesting.
English is not his 1st language and he speak ok english.
At least I'm able to understand what he says when he speaks in full sentence.
Over here in Bangkok, I have a teeney weeney problem.
Which is language barriers.
Most/ almost all people here don't know how to speak English.
So, its quite problematic for me to communicate with them especially when you're bargaining for a lower price or ask for directions or when they start speaking to me in Thai where I have no idea what they're saying.
Well, they came up with a perfect solution while bargaining with tourist.
They used calculators.
They key in the price on a calculator
they show it to you
and then if you're not satisfied and want to haggle,
you key in the price that you want.
So, this does on and on until it is final.
XD
I see it! I'm happy!!
The Floating Market.! They sell a lot of good here. They even cook in their own boats!
But, I wonder what do they use when they wash the dish plate/
kuali.The river water??
hmmm...
Thai people are really creative.
They will use their own country's resources as much as possible to make souvenirs.
There too much things to see!!
and to buy!! and some of these are not cheap you know.
lalalala....
My brand new Nike's!
Its Nike Free 7.0
Its super light, comfortable and flexible.
and it burnt a hole in my pocket already.
After browsing along the floating market, its time to head home.
are there fishies in there??
Well, this was a spectacular journey. I really really like the view here.
Anyway, renting a boat here is not cheap either. it cost us abt 1000 baht per boat. XD
After the floating market,
we went to The Brigde of River Kwai.
It took us abt another 1 hour to reach there.
and again I slept in the van.
Tada!!
Okay, heres a brief history abt the bridge.
It is located a place called Tha Makham, about 5km from the Thai town of Kanchanaburi.
This was part of a project to link existing Thai and Burmese railway lines to create a route from Bangkok, Thailand
to Rangoon, Burma (now Myanmar ) to support the Japanese occupation of Burma.
About a hundred thousand conscripted Asian labourers and 12,000 prisoners of war died on the whole project
And abt 80000 people died during WWII.
hmm..
this bridge was only used for 2 years.
and now its just a tourist area/ white elephant.
The cemetary of the people who died on the bridge.
Hmmm... I'm not so sure what she's staring at. XD
this is one weird menu. whisky shake??
ordering our food.
coconut whisky shake. It taste really horrible.
Its not even from the real coconut!
its powdered coconut. eek! that drink is not mine. XD
=DDDD
It was a really hot hot day.
I wish I could take a bath.
But not like that okay.
Not in public.
>.<
After our lunch, we went for a little shopping.
I bought some bracelet and an anklet.
This lady is really friendly.
XD I manage to get a picture of her! cute??
On our way to our next journey ( the wax museum), we met a lot of people selling things.
gosh... they would do anything just for money.
okay... thats all for today..
I don't have any pictures at the wax museum and the mambo cabaret show because my camera broke down.
lol..
But I have to get the pictures from my aunty's camera.
Stay tuned!
oh ya.. if you're wondering what The Mambo Cabaret Show is..
Its about ladies who perform varieties of cultural shows.
What I meant abt the word ladies is ladies who are originally guys.
They undergo operation and taking hormone pills just to look like a lady.
and all i have to say is..
THEY'RE UNBELIEVABLY AMAZINGLY SUPER DUPER JAW DROPPING hot and beautiful....
>.< Even I, as a girl could say that.
Really. they are really beautiful.
I'll post the pictures when I have them.
After watching the show,
we went to The Suan Lum Night Bazaar for shopping.
It opens until 1a.m.
If you want varieties of things, go here.
Some are expensive and some are really cheap.
It depends on how you bargain actually.
There are too many shops to browse and I manage to browse 1/4 of it.
I bought a lot of cheap things.
I manage to buy a dress for abt 220 baht from 450 baht.
15 pairs of t-shirts for1500 baht.
and more.. which i can't remember.
After the night Bazaar, we went back to out hotels and slept.
I slept quite late because I was waiting for my hair to dry.
While waiting, I watched an orchestra performance on tv.
A lady violinist, the soloist for the whoel orchestra.
Shes really good. but I only watch it halfway as it was already 2 a.m.
I was also trying to repair my camera.
Thank god I brought along my mini screwdriver that was meant for my glasses and I unscrew everything.
Figure out how to repair it.
After several trials and errors, I've successfully repaired it!
Muahahahaha!!!
I'm happy now. ^^
6th of June, Friday
Today, we went to
Safari World, Bangkok
The food court at The Night Bazaar
China Town
I woke up a little late today.
Had breakfast.
and I was really sick of their breakfast already.
The same old food as yesterday's.
I ate a little.
Got into the van and started watching the mr.bean series.
After days of watching it, I got sick of it.
and I watched all of them already.
again I slept in the van. Motion sickness and headache.
We reached The Safari World 1 hour later.
It was for the kids. XD
I was just tagging along.
but to my surprise, I enjoyed myself.
At the entrance.
Parrots all over the place!
This looks more like candy land! XD First we went to The crocodile garden.
Hmm.. I don't know whether is this real or fake.
But it looks real enough to me.
I did not take this pic btw.
He doesn't look like a staff there nor a crocodile caretaker.
Then, we watched The Orang Utan Show.
They're from Sabah and Borneo.
Huge crowd.
The whole show was conducted mainly in Thai Language.
So, I have no idea what are they saying.
Except the word
Sawa-dee-kaa. it means hello.
I manage to pick up some thai words such as
korp khun mach - Thank you very much
krap/ka - Yes
kor thot - Excuse me/Sorry
an-nee thao rai - How much is this?
Pom phoot thai ma dai - I can't speak Thai
Anyway...
After that, we went to the Sea Lion Show.
These creatures are smart! XD
next,
we watched some Cowboy show.
and again all the scripts are in Thai.
I have no idea what are they saying again but i get the picture from their body language and the storyline.
he was shot.
and it was a fantastic performance with some explosions here and there.
okay, after that, we went to The Bird Park.
My aunty and my mum.
So far, I manage to take pictures until here.
My battery died. =.="
I got more pictures and its not with me again.
I fed some birds and giraffes.
oh yea.. guess what? the toilet here in Safari world won the The Best Toilet of The Year Award.
Hmm... I wonder do they have it here in M'sia?
Safari World In Bangkok is 100 times better than Zoo Negara.
XD.
After Safari World, we went back to our hotels since we are quite tired and sticky.
So, I was quite lucky to have a chance to bathe after a looooog sizzling hot day, charge my camera battery and have a short nap.
My parents, uncle and aunty went for a foot massage.
My younger cousin and my sister went swimming.
and i'm the only one sleeping. =.="
okaayy...
after all those, we went out for dinner
at the food court of The Suan Lum Night Bazaar.
The entrance to the food court.
and I saw this statue.
really nice...
I was staring at it so near at his glasses.
and sudden;y it moved!!
@^*&$^#@(*$^@(!!!!!!
I got a shock of my life!!!
and it start talking.
my gawd.....
You're really good!
I didn't realise it until I saw a basket of money in front of him.
I gave him 20 baht for it. XD
My dad and I.
After our dinner,
we continue browsing around the night bazaar again.
None of us bought anything.
We wanted to go to China Town actually instead of the food court.
But according to john, the traffic was really congested.
But we went to China town at abt 11. XD
can you spot how many 7-elevens are there???? XD
Ofcourse China Town have a lot of Chinese.
and the locals speak chinese too.
ahh... at least Im somewhere I could understand what they are saying.
hmmm... >.<
I felt really sorry for them.
I had some extra change and I gave to them instead. They needed it more than I do.
Even after our dinner at the night bazaar, my parents and relatives could not stop eating.
Well, How could you resist such good food?
I, on the other hand was bored since I'm allergic to most of the seafood.
=.=" but they look really delicious.
Huge crabs and prawns.
I remember I used to do this too when I was younger.
After china town,
we went to One Avenue or known as Cowboy Avenue.
It is where all the pubs/blubs are situated.
A lot of ang-mo lang. XD
I did not enter ofcourse.
We just passed by there only to see how it looked like.
yeahh..
Great... something (i can't interpret it)
Good Music
Cold Beer
No Hassle!
As promised, John brought me to this stall.
Beetles, grasshoppers, cockroaches and worms.
i know its disgusting.
omg.. I though John was joking abt bringing me to eat these stuffs.
well, as I said I wanted to try.
I bought some grasshoppers and worms ONLY.
I dont dare to buy the cockroaches and beetles. >.<
Bought a plastic bag of it that cost only 20 baht = RM 2
I ate only half of the amount I bought.
Its not that it taste bad.
Its just that, I can't get the thinking of I'm eating bugs off my head.
It taste quite good actually.
and no, I did not wake up having a really bad stomach ache/ diarrhea.
The last day, 7th June
Its our last day here.
Today, we went to
Little Sikh Town
and MBK Centre.
nothing much in Sikh Town.
I just went inside this gurdwara.
and I was also invited to go inside!
One Sikh guy asked whether if I went inside already,
have i ate already?
and offer us to eat inside and stuff like that.
That was something..
He said, anyone can enter this place.
oh ya.. I realised that bangkok still have those telephone cables along the streets.
M'sia used to have that those days but not much anymore now.
hmm.. they really need to do something abt this.
Looks like maggi mee got tangled up.
After that, we have some time to spare, we went to MBK Centre for some more shopping.
XD
You see how bad was the traffic?
That is why I hate Bangkok for the traffic jams.
The traffic is always congested all the time!
anyway, MBK Centre is something line the Night Bazaar
but things over here are cheaper.
There are a lot of shops too.
and theres one particular shop that I could remember .
I tagged along with both of my aunties for some shopping.
So, they went into this shop that sells a lot of bags.
I did not enter as I didn't wanna buy any bags.
So, I saw a sign at the entrance that says...
DON'T VISIT IF YOU DON'T BUY ANYTHING.
.... what on earth is this???
So, I wanted to take a picture of it
and it had Another sign says
NO PICTURES/CAMERAS ARE ALLOWED.
FINE 1000 BAHT.
wth??!! and the shop lady was staring at me..
So, I didn't wanna get myself into trouble, I called my aunties to read the sign.
all of us laughed!
what a weird thing to put up.
no wonder the shop was empty.
After shopping, we went to the food court to eat our lunch.
We ate at..
Everywhere in Bangkok, the food court uses card for payments.
When you enter the food court, you'll be given a card so that you could purchase your food.
Great idea.
I was really lost when I was trying to buy a drink at the food court at Siam Paragon.
and they told me I have to buy a card.
I was so blur I didn't know what card I'm supposed to buy.
So, the guy showed me how it works. XDXD
and at the end of the day, after you finish eating, you have to go to the main counter and pay for the food.
and you can't leave without paying.
lol..
and I saw another thing.
It is an Advertisement.
XDXD
After everything.
It was time to go to the airport.
Group Photo!!
Before we leave, all of us said goodbye to John and thank him for doing a magnificent job.
On our journey back home, the weather was quite bad and the plane was shaking all the time.
Theres air turbulence.
and... theres once where the plane fell a little but its enough to scare all of us.
However,
I'm just glad to be back home in Malaysia.
It made me appreciate Malaysia more than before.
oh ya, guess what?
The parking fee at LCC Terminal cost us abt RM144.
So, be smart next time people.
Thats all for now.. Bye!
School starts tomorrow!
